Cheryl with the DolphinsThe Dolphin Encounter

Here is something else we'd also like to share with you. We do not, nor have we ever, fed , nor attempted to feed, the Dolphins for any reason whatsoever. In fact, it is and has always been our policy to never do anything aimed at altering their natural behavior. Including, introducing artificial sounds into the Dolphins environment.

What this means is, that whenever our guests do have a Wild Dolphin encounter, it happens only because the Dolphins choose for it to happen. We have neither the capability nor the desire to influence the Dolphins to do anything they do not choose to do on their own. More about that later.

When the Dolphins do show up to the boat, it's time for the Crew to begin observing the Dolphins behavior. At first, the Dolphins usually enjoy playing in the boats bow wake and stern wake. Sometimes they can be observed jumping and leaping the wake/wave created off the stern of the boat. When the boat slows down, the Crew is looking for some very specific behavior that they have learned indicates that the Dolphins are ready for a swim. Our suggestion is to be patient. Delays do not mean denials.

The Crew fully appreciates how much each and every guest is looking forward to the opportunity to swim with the Dolphins. The Crew is working very hard to put you in the best position to be successful. Keep your ears and eyes open for Crew instructions and the wait will be worth it.
