Finn

Finn Cusimano (“Finn”)

Finn (ID #09) is easily identified from above the water by the “Orion’s belt” of spots beside her dorsal fin, but by the 2006 research season, we had to get used to a new, older Finn. She’s developed quite a few spots, now that she’s an older juvenile (class 3) & her Orion’s Belt is much harder to notice.  But, Finn is still rarely seen without Romeo (ID #10) and is playful and engaging with human swimmers.  Finn initiates many seaweed games (e.g., keep-away), chases with other juveniles and swims circles around us silly humans.  Since Finn was already a juvenile when the Dolphin Communication Project began research in Bimini in 2001, we cannot identify her mother. Still, we are all enjoying watching her grow and develop through the years.
